Philippe-Pierre Dornier

Philippe-Pierre Dornier has a master's degree in Engineering from École des Mines, and ESSEC degree (Graduate School MBA), and a PhD from École des Mines de Paris.

He is currently a Professor in Logistics and Production at ESSEC. He was in charge of the postgraduate programs from 1992 to 1995. In 1993, Professor Dornier created the Institute des Hautes Études Logistiques (IHEL) which is sponsored by companies like, France Télécom, La Poste, Andersen Consulting, DHL, Tailleur Industrie, CAT, Fret SNCF. Professor Dornier has been and currently is involved in several studies: logistics impact of the Chunnel, how to manage the interface between logistics and marketing, military logistics in France, how to manage third party logistics, and a comparative study in the field of spare parts distribution. He is the editor if the Cahier de l'IHEL.

He was Associate Dean of the Master's in Management and Engineering Logistics from 1989 to 1996. Today, he is in charge of the Executive Program at ESSEC and is Scientific Director at IHEL. He has consulted with numerous companies, including France Télécom, Michelin, Rexec, Seita and is associated with the logistics group work of the French army. His activities as consultant have allowed Professor Dornier to work on logistics strategy and on physical distribution organization at the French, the European and the worldwide scale. He is currently a managing partner of Newton-Vaurial and Co. He is also author and co-author of two books on logistics.
