The SWOT analysis is a powerful tool for businesses seeking to identify the internal and external factors which could have an effect on their development. It was one of the first models to consider the external environment of an organization rather than focusing solely on strategic planning, and is now often used in marketing departments or as a decision-making tool. Its strength lies in its simplicity, and it provides clear results that can easily be communicated to a range of stakeholders.

In this book, you will discover how the SWOT analysis can help you, learn how to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that could affect your company, and use your results to develop a coherent and effective business strategy. A clear explanation of the benefits and potential drawbacks of the method, a discussion of a practical case study, and an introduction to related models will give you the tools you need to tailor your approach to your situation.

Disappointing *** (3 out of 10)

An Ok overview of SWOT, but it misses the most important drawback/criticism of the SWOT analysis; it is still Inside-Out thinking!

Disappointment.
