Chris Britton BA Economics, MSc Economics

Chris Britton is a Principal Lecturer in the Department of Strategy and Management. Her main teaching areas are Quantitative Methods, Information Management, Business Environment and Economics. She is the module leader for the first year QM module which is taught on all undergraduate business programmes both at De Montfort University and other centres. She is also module leader for the Information Management modules on the three Institute of Personnel and Development courses. For this module, Chris co-authored a personnel database to be used in teaching which is endorsed by the IPD and used by other universities in the UK.

Chris has been an active researcher for the past 12 years in the area of executive recruitment consultancy. This work has been widely published in academic journals and the practitioner press and Chris is a co-author of a book 'Executive Search and the European Recruitment Market'. She has successfully supervised three research students, two to PhD level and one to MPhil level. At present she is supervising 2 PhD students and has acted as an examiner at the higher level.

Chris is the co-author of two textbooks, 'Business Environment' and 'Economics for Business'. These are both used extensively on undergraduate and postgraduate business programmes throughout the UK. Chris was an external examiner for the Chartered Institute of Marketing for the subject area ‘Marketing Environment’ for 5 years and is currently an external examiner for the personnel management programme at Kingston University.
