Cyril Levicki grew up in London's East End. After leaving school, he worked as a labourer to put money together to start his own business. He also took time out to work with the Save the Children Fund. He spent the next twelve years running his own businesses in retail, wholesale and manufacturing — ranging from a market stall in Petticoat Lane to international import and export.

He became an undergraduate at the age of 32, at London University, gaining a degree in Economics and Politics. Upon leaving, he was awarded a sholarship to research his Ph.D. on leadership decision making at the London Business School. He also taught courses on Advanced Policy and Strategy.

After teaching at the London Business School, he taught at Cranfield School of Management, before accepting a post as Visiting Professor at Queen Mary College, London University in 1984. He was also appointed Visiting Professor in Strategy at Baruch College (City University of New York) in 1986.

Within a short time he had to give up his academic posts because of demand in his private consulting practice, which specializes in the development of leaders and their organization strategies at boardroom level. This company also develops senior directors and managers to aid them in the implementation of the strategies which it helps their leaders formulate.

Dr. Levicki has acted as consultant to a large variety of international and national corporations, such as BT, British Gas, Jardine International Insurance, Excel Logistics, Hawker Siddeley, jones Lang Wotten, Lex Service (Transfleet), L'Oreal, NFC, Reed International, TeleWest Communications, SmithKline Beecham, UCI Logistics and US West International.
