David P. Norton is a cofounder, president and CEO of Balanced Scorecard Collaborative. Prior to BSCol, Dr. Norton cofounded and served as president of Renaissance Solutions, Inc., a Balanced Scorecard consulting firm. He was also cofounder and president of Nolan, Norton & Company. He is coauthor, with Robert S. Kaplan, of The Balanced Scorecard: Translating Strategy Into Action (Harvard Business School Publishing, 1996), and The Strategy-Focused Organization:How Balanced Scorecard Companies Thrive in the New Business Environment (Harvard Business School Publishing, 2000), and three articles on the Balanced Scorecard in the Harvard Business Review. Dr. Norton earned his doctorate in business administration from Harvard University, an MBA from Florida State University, an MS in operations research from the Florida Institute of Technology, and a BS in electrical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
