Jim Matheson

Jim Matheson (chairman of SmartOrg) is recognized throughout the world as a pioneer and leader in decision analysis and decision theory. Jim founded the Decision Analysis department at Stanford Research Institute (now SRI International) in the 1960s and was a co-founder of SDG in 1981. Prior to founding SmartOrg, Jim was a managing director of SDG and the firm's Chief Technology Officer. He is a consulting professor in engineering-economic systems at Stanford University and holds the prestigious Ramsey Medal for lifetime contributions to the field of decision analysis, awarded by the Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS). Jim's PhD is from Stanford University. He is co-author of The Smart Organization.
