Lee Lefever

Lee LeFever is the son of a goldfish farmer. Born in 1973, he began life in North Carolina where the family business dominated dinner table conversation. At the time, he found it boring. But today his own dinner table discussions sound eerily familiar.

Lee's parents, Wyatt and Dolores (now retired), made a successful team. It was often noted that Wyatt had the ideas and Dolores made them happen. Such is the case with Lee and his wife Sachi. Married in 2004, they also became a team devoted to their company, Common Craft.

But before Common Craft or Sachi, Lee was lured by the music and attitude of his college years and moved to Seattle in 1998 without a job. In the years that followed, he discovered a few things:

  • He's happier with a job and specifically, running a small company
  • It rains a lot in Seattle, and he loves the rain
  • That his special purpose is helping people communicate better

These days Lee counts good days in terms of tired dogs, delicious food and good times with friends and family. Lee also believes in the idea that happiness at home, business and life comes from making deliberate and sometimes unconventional choices that focus on lifestyle and the long term.
