Michael J. Lanning initially created the increasingly well-known concepts of the value proposition, value delivery system and value delivery segmentation, as a strategy consultant with McKinsey & Company, where he spent seven years. Before that, he worked in brand management at Procter & Gamble. Starting in 1987 when Mike left McKinsey, he and his former firm Lanning, Phillips & Associates (LPA), expanded these value-delivery concepts in LPA's highly successful executive education program Building Market-Focused Organizations (BMFO™), which has been presented worldwide to more than 20,000 managers in over 40 corporations and 25 nations. In recent years, Mike and his colleagues have further developed these concepts into the comprehensive DPV philosophy, framework, and methodology, as discussed in Mike's book Delivering Profitable Value; with clients around the world, most recently through his fast-growing strategy consulting firm, The DPV Group, based in Atlanta.
