Sunni Brown, M.P.A. is a business owner, information designer, and co-author of one of Amazon's Top 100 Business Books titled GameStorming: A Playbook for Rule-breakers, Innovators and Changemakers.
She's best known for her large-scale graphic recordings and live content visualizations at all kinds of meetings and events, and she is also the leader of The Doodle Revolution — a growing effort to debunk the myth that doodling is a distraction. Using common sense, experience and neuroscience, Sunni is proving that to doodle is to ignite your whole mind.
Her consultancy, BrightSpot I.D., specializes in visual thinking and its broad applications and partners with the best-of-the-best in the field. BrightSpot operates on the principle that "information overload" is best managed by using visual language and the thoughtful design of information. Coupling text and presentation materials with graphics and visual architectures significantly enhances meaning, comprehension and memory.
She was trained in graphic recording and facilitation at The Grove Consultants International, a San Francisco-based company that pioneered the use of large-scale visuals in business settings.
Sunni is currently an Associate of The Grove, a freelance consultant for XPLANE — the visual thinking company — and an Associate of Alphachimp Studios. She is also co-Founder of VizThink Austin, currently the largest visual thinking community in the United States. Sunni presents regularly on the topics of graphic facilitation, graphic recording and visual thinking and the brain, and is also one really funny lady.
Sunni holds Bachelor's degrees in Journalism and Linguistics and a Master's in Public Affairs from the Lyndon Baines Johnson School of Public Affairs in Austin, Texas. She lives in Austin.
