Tyrone Pitsis was educated at the University of New South Wales where he graduated in 1998 with a BSoc.Sc in Psychology. He obtained his PhD in Management at Sydney’s University of Technology in 2007. Tyrone is currently a Reader in Strategic Design at Newcastle University and a Visiting Professor at the University of Sydney.
Tyrone’s research is focused on three aligned streams: strategy making, strategy execution, and generative organizational strategies. In addition to this he also studies the delivery of major infrastructure, large scale social enterprise, and projects of social and economic transformation. In a separate stream of research he explores the debates, value and relevance of organization and management theory and research.
In 2013 Tyrone was elected as a Fellow of the The Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce; an organisation committed to finding innovative practical solutions to today’s social challenges.
